Teen Charged with Attempted Murder After Barnes Train Station Stabbing
Early Morning Attack Shocks South London
A 16-year-old boy from Clacton-on-Sea has been charged in connection with a stabbing at Barnes train station in south London. The violent attack happened just after 7am on September 26 at the busy Station Road stop.
Victim’s Condition Improves After Life-Threatening Injuries
British Transport Police and London Ambulance crews rushed to the scene, where they found a man with serious stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but has thankfully recovered and been discharged.
Teen Remanded and Faces Court
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on October 5.
Investigation Ongoing
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “A teenager has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing at Barnes last week. The 16-year-old from Clacton-on-Sea has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. The investigation remains ongoing as we gather further evidence.”
