Murder Charge After Fatal Stabbing
A 30-year-old man is set to face court this morning, charged with the murder of Billy Keegan in Ilford.
Muhamed Nur Osman, from Knight Close, Dagenham, is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 October. He faces charges of murder and assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH).
Stabbing Shocks Ilford Community
Police rushed to Chapel Road, Ilford, at around 1:05am on Friday, 4 October after reports of a stabbing. Officers and London Ambulance crews found 50-year-old Billy Keegan seriously injured in the corridor of a block of flats.
Despite frantic efforts, Mr Keegan was pronounced dead at 1:30am.
Investigation Underway
The case is being led by the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command. Initially, three men were arrested on suspicion of murder but later released without charge.
Osman was arrested the following day and charged with the murder.
