Party Rapist Jailed for Seven Years
Danny Pechap, 21, from Leicester, has been slammed with a seven-and-a-half-year prison sentence for raping a woman after a party on April 26. The attacker and victim didn’t know each other but shared mutual friends and attended the same event.
Attacker Strikes While Victim Sleeps
After the party, Pechap went to the woman’s accommodation and assaulted her while she was asleep. The next morning, the victim noticed her shorts were on the wrong way and stained with blood. She immediately sought help at A&E and reported the attack to police.
Damning Evidence: Video and Concealed Crime Scenes
Emma Bailey from the police Signal team uncovered chilling proof on Pechap’s phone—videos showing the assault. “He took advantage of her, taking off her clothes, while she was unable to stop him,” Bailey revealed.
Further investigation found a bloodstained bedsheet had gone missing. Pechap admitted dumping it in a bin away from the property, trying to hide crucial evidence.
Victim Left Traumatized
“This young woman was subjected to a sexual assault, leaving her scared and concerned about what might happen to her in the future. No one should be left to feel like this,” said Bailey.
Pechap pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on August 29 to one count of rape of a woman over 16.
