Leicester Man Locked Up for 25 Violent Crimes Against Women
Leon Bowes, 34, has been found guilty of 25 serious offences against three women, ending a brutal 16-year saga of abuse. The Biddle Road, Littlethorpe resident was convicted after a six-week trial at Leicester Crown Court on Monday, November 18.
Horrific Crimes Detailed
- 10 counts of rape
- 8 counts of actual bodily harm (ABH)
- 2 counts of coercive and controlling behaviour
- 2 counts of assault by penetration
- Multiple other serious charges
The nightmare started as far back as 2008, with one victim just 14 at the time. The case only came to light when a survivor bravely stepped forward in July 2023, prompting a police probe that uncovered more victims.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery
“The courage and strength these women have shown is truly commendable. Without them, this predator would still be free,” said Sergeant Lorraine Hendrie, lead investigator.
Detective Superintendent Chris Baker added, “This conviction sends a powerful message: we are relentless in bringing predators to justice and supporting survivors.”
Justice Still to Come
Bowes faces sentencing on January 24, 2025. Police are urging anyone with information or potential victims to come forward as they believe more survivors may exist.
