Couple jailed after toddler’s body found buried in Birmingham garden
Horrific discovery in Handsworth
A couple has been convicted of causing or allowing the death of their three-year-old son. The toddler, Abiyah Yasharahyalah, was found buried in the backyard of their home in Handsworth, Birmingham.
Tai Yasharahyalah, 42, and Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah, 43, were found guilty at Coventry Crown Court of multiple charges, including child cruelty for neglecting to provide proper food and medical care. They were also convicted of perverting the course of justice by attempting to cover up their son’s death.
The couple, who lived on Clarence Road, were remanded in custody and will be sentenced next Thursday.
