Brutal Abuser Gets 22 Years for Torturing Ex Over Nine Years
A man who subjected his ex-partner to almost a decade of horrific abuse, violence, and control has been slammed with a 22-year prison sentence at Leicester Crown Court.
A Nightmare Relationship of Abuse
The victim suffered relentless physical and emotional torment in a sickening nine-year relationship. The abuse included:
- False imprisonment
- Sexual assault and rape
- Stalking and coercive control
- Repeated savage violence
The nightmare only ended when she fled the abuser in March 2024 and bravely contacted the police fearing for her life.
Shocking Details Revealed in Court
The court heard terrifying accounts of severe violence and sexual assault, including:
- 2017: He smashed her knee with a guitar, causing serious injury.
- 2018: While pregnant, she was tied to a radiator for two days, beaten and spat on.
- 2019: Attacked while holding her baby, she suffered grave injuries after refusing his demands.
- 2020: A brutal midnight assault left her punched, strangled, and threatened.
- 2021: He pushed her down stairs while heavily pregnant, continuing his violent rampage.
Despite earlier police reports, the victim had been too scared and manipulated to reveal the full horror until now.
Justice Delivered: Convicted on All Counts
In May 2024, after finally detailing all the abuse, the man was arrested and charged with 15 offences. A jury found him guilty on every count in November 2024.
On January 13, 2025, he was jailed for 22 years, with an extra three years on licence after release.
Police Praise Her Bravery
Detective Constable Nathan Martin from Leicestershire Police’s Signal unit called the case “one of the most disturbing” he had seen. He paid tribute to the victim’s courage:
“The level of violence in this case was on another level. The defendant was determined to control the victim, showing no regard for her physical or mental wellbeing.”
