Mitchell Gent Busted Over Deal and Sholden Break-Ins

Police have charged Mitchell Gent, 26, from Freemens Way, Deal, following a string of vehicle break-ins across Deal and Sholden. Gent was arrested on Thursday, 20 February after a fast-moving investigation into nine break-ins reported between 8 and 19 February 2025.

He faces charges of:

  • Vehicle interference
  • Theft from a motor vehicle
  • Possession of a Class B drug (cannabis)

Gent is currently in custody and set to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today, 21 February.

Spate of Break-Ins Stirs Concern

The investigation kicked off after locals reported nine separate incidents of car break-ins. Vehicles were broken into and rummaged through, with items stolen including:

  • A headtorch
  • Cash
  • Computer accessories

The thefts rattled residents across Deal and Sholden, sparking calls for greater vigilance in the community.
