Abdulmawal Ibrahim Adam, 27, from Stanier Street, has been slapped with a charge of attempting to kidnap a 17-year-old girl in Swindon. The incident sent shockwaves through the Wiltshire town after the girl was chased and grabbed while walking home from work on Fleming Way on March 6.

Victim escapes grip, police act fast

The quick-thinking teenager managed to break free from Adam’s grasp. Wiltshire Police launched an immediate investigation and laid charges against Adam, who was remanded in custody late on Wednesday, March 19. He is set to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today, March 20.

“We take reports of this nature extremely seriously and have worked swiftly to identify and charge a suspect. The victim is being supported, and we are continuing our investigation,” said a Wiltshire Police spokesperson.
