Man Charged with Murder Following Fatal Brixton Stabbing
Suspect in Custody After Brutal Attack
A man has been charged with murder after 34-year-old Troy Ramsundar was fatally stabbed in Brixton, south London. Ibrahim Gonclaves-Cumare, 30, of no fixed address, was formally charged on Sunday, March 23. The stabbing happened in the early hours of Thursday, March 20.
Gonclaves-Cumare has been remanded in custody and will face Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 24.
Early Morning Stabbing on Brixton Road
The Metropolitan Police were alerted at around 5:10am to reports of a man with stab wounds on Brixton Road, SW9. Despite emergency teams rushing to the scene, including the London Ambulance Service, Troy Ramsundar was pronounced dead at the site.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed, and his family is receiving support from specially trained officers.
Murder Investigation Under Way
A murder probe was launched immediately. Detectives worked tirelessly to find and charge those responsible. Gonclaves-Cumare’s arrest marks a key breakthrough in the case.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We are committed to delivering justice for Troy’s family and continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward,” said a Met Police spokesperson.
Police urge anyone who was in the Brixton Road area around 5am on March 20, or has dash cam or CCTV footage, to step forward.
