Night Out Horror: Woman Smashes Pint Glass Into Ex’s Face in Brutal Attack

A night out in Swansea turned ugly when 28-year-old Roisin Hannon launched a savage attack on her ex-partner, smashing a pint glass into his face and leaving him with serious injuries.

Brutal Assault at Swansea Snooker Club

The shocking incident erupted just after 1am on Sunday, January 26, inside a Uplands snooker club. Witnesses say tensions flared when Hannon and her ex crossed paths. After a heated argument, she doused him with her drink before violently striking him with a pint glass.

The brutal blow caused an arterial bleed, forcing the victim into emergency hospital treatment. Although seriously hurt, he is now recovering.

South Wales Police quickly swooped, arresting Hannon, a Landore resident, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Police Slam “Shameful Act of Violence”

Acting Detective Inspector Danielle Thorne condemned the vicious attack. “Roisin Hannon did not care one bit about the wellbeing of the victim,” she said. “This was an unprovoked and vicious assault that has had a lasting impact.”

Hannon Sentenced to Over Two Years

On March 28, 2025, Hannon appeared at Swansea Crown Court and pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm. She was sentenced to 26 months behind bars.

The judge slammed her for showing no remorse and branded the attack “completely unprovoked and entirely avoidable.” The court heard that alcohol played a big role and also took note of her previous offenses.

Community Outraged, Calls for Action Grow

The violent episode has sparked fresh outrage in Swansea’s nightlife hotspot of Uplands, raising alarm over the dangers of alcohol-fuelled violence.

Local residents and leaders demand stronger measures from bars and clubs to curb violent flare-ups and stress the need for personal responsibility.

South Wales Police urge the public to report violent incidents and seek help if caught in abusive situations.
