Burglary Shock in Faversham: Man Charged After Early Morning Break-In

A man has been hit with charges after a break-in in Faversham, Kent, rocked the quiet Oare area in the early hours of Thursday, 27 March 2025.

Kent Police say the suspect smashed into a home near Faversham Lakes just before 3am. Thieves made off with a silver racing road bike, along with food and alcohol.

Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest

At the same time, officers were tipped off about a suspicious man hanging around nearby. They pounced, conducting enquiries that led to the arrest of 32-year-old Luke McLaren of Evers Road, Faversham, on Sunday, 30 March.

  • Remanded in custody after court appearance on Monday, 31 March at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court
  • Next hearing set for 11 April at Medway Magistrates’ Court

Police Hunt for Missing Bike and Call for CCTV Clues

The prized stolen bike is still missing. Police urge anyone with info or who spotted the silver racing bike to ring Kent Police on 01795 419119, quoting reference 46/51212/25.

Detectives are also appealing for local CCTV footage to help crack the case. Residents are warned to stay alert and report anything suspicious.
