A man has been slammed with six charges following a stabbing outside a busy grocery store in Highgate last week.
Knife Attack Outside Superette on Swain’s Lane
Police were called at 9.51pm on Thursday, April 10, after reports of a stabbing right outside the Superette supermarket on Swain’s Lane.
Emergency crews found a 34-year-old man with stab wounds to his back. Thankfully, his injuries were serious but not life-threatening. He was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital.
Brian Samuels Arrested and Charged
After a swift police probe, Brian Samuels, 54, from Borehamwood, was nabbed and charged on Saturday, April 12, with six offences including:
- Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH)
- Violent Disorder
- Possession of an Offensive Weapon
- Assault
- Driving Without a Licence
- Driving Without Insurance
Samuels was remanded in custody and appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 14.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
A Metropolitan Police source said:
“This was a serious incident in a busy area. We are grateful for the swift response by officers and the support of the local community. We are continuing our enquiries and urge anyone with further information or footage to come forward.”
Witnesses and CCTV Footage Needed
Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area on April 10 to help with their investigation.
