Grandson Jailed for Life Over Granny’s Brutal Murder in Coventry

Shock as Sam Croston Sentenced to 30+ Years

A Coventry man has been handed a life sentence with a minimum of 30 years for murdering his grandmother. Sam Croston, 37, was locked up today at Warwick Crown Court for the savage killing of 75-year-old Pamela Croston at her Everdon Road home last September.

Alarming Scene Unfolds at Granny’s House

The horror began when Pamela’s personal alarm pendant alerted emergency services. Police found Croston sitting beside his seriously injured grandmother. Pamela was rushed to hospital but tragically died from her wounds.

Despite claiming he couldn’t remember the attack, Croston was arrested on the spot and charged with her murder.

Neighbours in Mourning: ‘A Kind and Gentle Soul’

A police spokesperson confirmed: “Pamela’s injuries were extensive and the result of a deliberate and violent assault. The evidence leaves no doubt that Croston is responsible, despite his denials.”

Locals described Pamela as a well-loved figure in the community, known for her kindness and warmth.

Family Left Devastated: ‘Nothing Fills the Void’

“We are heartbroken by the loss of our mother and grandmother,” Pamela’s family said. “She was a wonderful woman taken in the most senseless and brutal way. While today’s sentence brings some justice, nothing will ever fill the void she has left in our lives.”

Detective Inspector Gareth Unett added: “Pamela should have felt safe in her own home. Croston’s actions have devastated everyone who knew and loved her.”

With no fixed address, Croston faces decades behind bars before he’s even considered for parole.
