Swindon pervert James Hortop locked up after repeated public exposure sprees
Serial Exhibitionist Jailed
James Hortop, 40, of Dennis Street, Swindon, has been slammed with 15 months behind bars at Swindon Magistrates’ Court. Wiltshire Police confirmed the sentence comes after Hortop repeatedly exposed himself in public, breaching a previously suspended sentence.
Timeline of Shocking Offences
Hortop first got a 26-week suspended sentence on April 7, 2025, after flashing neighbours. But just five weeks later, he was back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Police snapped him three more times indecently exposing himself, leading to two more arrests.
On April 30, 2025, Hortop brazenly staggered onto a garage forecourt wearing only a dressing gown—genitals fully exposed. Witnesses reported him masturbating openly in front of two women. This blatant disregard for the law forced the court to ditch leniency and slap down a custodial sentence.
Harsh Court Orders to Follow
- Hortop remains bound by previous restraining orders.
- His Sexual Harm Prevention Order has been extended.
- He must register as a sex offender for 14 years.
