Man Charged with Murder of 87-Year-Old in Manor House
A 58-year-old man has been charged with murder and robbery after an 87-year-old man died following a brutal attack in Manor House, north London.
Violent Robbery Ends in Tragedy
Peter Augustine, from Green Lanes, Hornsey, was charged on Friday, 9 May, over the violent incident on Tuesday, 6 May. The elderly victim was found injured at around 5.53pm on Goodchild Road after police and paramedics were called to a reported robbery.
The 87-year-old was rushed to hospital but tragically died two days later, on Thursday, 8 May. His family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Suspect in Custody, Police Seek Witnesses
Augustine was arrested on Thursday evening in Green Lanes and remains in custody. He is set to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 10 May. The investigation, known as Operation Cedarbirch, is ongoing.
