Teen Jailed for Life Over Brutal Brent Stabbing
A ruthless stabbing in Brent has landed an 18-year-old behind bars for life. Kevin Kelenda, from Harrow, was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on Monday, 19 May 2025, after mercilessly murdering 36-year-old Tyrone Pinnock.
Life Sentence with Minimum 17 Years
Kelenda received a life sentence with a minimum term of 17 years. On top of this, he was handed an 18-month detention and training order for possession of a bladed weapon.
Brutal and Unprovoked Attack in Kensal Road
The chilling attack unfolded on the evening of Thursday, 19 October 2023, at around 6:42pm. A passerby found Tyrone Pinnock stabbed on Kensal Road, W10, and alerted the police.
Despite urgent first aid from officers and rapid response by London Ambulance Service paramedics, Tyrone died at the scene.
Metropolitan Police’s Homicide Command launched an intense investigation. CCTV and forensic evidence revealed Kelenda had stalked Tyrone from nearby Kensal Rise, before lunging and stabbing him in the chest with a lock knife. The motive remains a mystery.
Detective’s Take on the Fatal Assault
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, who led the inquiry, said: “Tyrone was killed in a brutal, cold-blooded assault which lasted only seconds, but was so severe that he died at the scene.
Our thoughts remain with Tyrone’s friends and family as they attempt to move forward with their lives, now knowing that Kelenda is behind bars where he belongs.”
