Maidenbower Man Nabbed in Seven-Shoplift Spree at Co-Op

A 32-year-old has been charged following a string of thefts at a Crawley Co-Op. Simon Rogers-Davis, from Lucas Close, faces seven counts of shoplifting. He is set to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 18 July 2025.

Rogers-Davis has been bailed but barred from entering the Co-Op without supervision, keeping him away from the scene of the crimes.

Joint Police-Retail Crackdown

The charges come after a joint operation by Crawley Neighbourhood Policing Team, divisional officers, and Sussex Police’s Business Crime Team, working closely with Co-Op management.

Police Take a Stand Against Shoplifters

“We are committed to working with local businesses to tackle shoplifting and ensure that persistent offenders are held accountable. Theft has a serious impact on both staff and the wider community,” said a Sussex Police spokesperson.

This case underlines Sussex Police’s ongoing fight against retail crime, targeting repeat offenders who hurt local shops and disrupt daily trade.
