Shaleem Nazish, formerly of Wellingborough, was convicted at Northampton Crown Court at the end of May after admitting five offences, including three SHPO breaches and two failures to comply with notification requirements.

Breaches Discovered by MOSOVO Team

Between March 28 and April 3, officers from the Northamptonshire Police MOSOVO team (Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders) discovered that Nazish had flouted all three conditions of his order.

He was also found to have:

  • Missed his annual Sex Offenders Register notification
  • Failed to notify police of a new bank card, another requirement under the register

Nazish was arrested and charged on April 3, before pleading guilty at Northampton Magistrates’ Court the following day. He was remanded in custody pending sentencing.

Sentencing Outcome

At Northampton Crown Court in late May, Nazish was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge upon release.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said:

“SHPOs and the Sex Offenders Register exist to protect the public. When those subject to them breach their conditions, we will take swift action. The custodial sentence handed down reflects the seriousness of Mr Nazish’s repeated non-compliance.”
