A man in his 70s has died after being struck by a car while crossing a road in Sevenoaks.

The incident happened at 1.24pm on Tuesday, 12 August, in Mount Harry Road at the junction with the A225 Dartford Road. Police said the pensioner was crossing on foot when he was hit by a red Mazda 2.

The vehicle stopped at the scene, and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He died on Wednesday, 20 August.

Investigation underway

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has launched a full inquiry and is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Motorists who were in the area at the time of the crash are being urged to review any in-car footage that may help investigators.

A Kent Police spokesperson said:

“This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time. We are asking anyone with information, particularly dashcam footage, to contact us as soon as possible.”
