The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation following an alleged rape in Canary Wharf during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Officers were called to Hertsmere Road at 4.25am on Saturday, 23 August, where they attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service.

A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital and is now being supported by specially trained officers.

At this stage, no arrests have been made, but detectives say enquiries are ongoing as they work to establish the full circumstances.

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“Anyone with any information, or who was around the area at the time, is urged to contact police by calling 101 or online, quoting CAD1371/23.
