Knife-Wielding Robber’s Four-Day Crime Spree Shakes London

Teddy Kelt, 20, from Romford, has pleaded guilty to a spree of terrifying robberies across London. The thug admitted to three robberies, three attempted robberies, plus two counts of carrying a knife in public. He’s also been charged with common assault and public order offences.

Knife Threats and Stolen Tech

On December 4, 2024, Kelt targeted a 22-year-old man at Mile End Underground station. Armed with a knife, he demanded the victim’s mobile phone before slapping and pushing him to the ground. The very next day on a Jubilee Line train, Kelt pulled out a machete, forcing a 16-year-old boy to hand over his phone.

December 6 saw three more attempts. Kelt threatened a 21-year-old over his watch and a 19-year-old over headphones – even dropping his knife during one scare.

More Victims and Nearly £4,000 Stolen

On December 7 at Finchley Central, Kelt approached a man asking to borrow his phone. When the man complied, Kelt pulled a knife and forced him to hand over his phone, laptop, and iPad.

He also tried mugging a 17-year-old on an Elizabeth Line train, threatening to stab him until passengers stepped in.

Across just four days, Kelt lifted goods worth close to £4,000. He’s already behind bars for earlier robberies and drug offences.

Caught on CCTV and Called ‘Dangerous’

Police identified Kelt after a robbery at Gidea Park on December 9, 2024, thanks to CCTV footage. They caught him with stolen property soon after.

“Kelt is a dangerous individual who deliberately targeted teenagers with violent threats,” said Detective Sergeant Steven Ridpath-Mitchell.

Kelt faces sentencing at Inner London Crown Court on October 16, 2025.
