Woman Critically Injured After Plunging from M65 Bridge

A woman suffered serious injuries after falling from a bridge over the M65 motorway in Brierfield, Lancashire, early Sunday morning. Emergency crews and Lancashire Constabulary rushed to the scene at 7.37am following a welfare concern report.

Fall Happened During Police Contact

A police spokesperson revealed the woman fell from The Bridge while officers were speaking to her. She was immediately taken to hospital with serious leg and pelvic injuries.

“Thankfully, her injuries are not life-threatening,” confirmed the spokesperson.

Motorway Closure Sparks Travel Chaos

The westbound carriageway between junctions 13 and 12 was shut following the incident, causing major delays for motorists. The road has since reopened, but police continue their investigation.

They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact them on 101, quoting log 0265 of 28th September.
