Man Airlifted with Life-Threatening Injuries After Shanklin Stabbing
Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was stabbed in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, late Saturday evening.
Grim Scene at Spring Gardens
Shortly before 8pm on July 8, officers responded following a call from the Isle of Wight ambulance service. A member of the public reported a man seriously injured at the Spring Gardens junction with St Paul’s Avenue.
The victim suffered a puncture wound to the chest. Emergency crews airlifted him to Southampton General Hospital. His condition remains life-threatening but stable.
Suspect Arrested and Questioned
Police have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing. He is currently being questioned at Newport Police Station as detectives continue their enquiries.
