Brutal Bus Brawl: NHS Worker Left Unconscious After Mask Row Attack
The Met Police have released CCTV footage to track down a violent thug who brutally attacked an NHS worker over a face mask row on a north London bus.
Shocking Unprovoked Assault on NHS Staffer
The victim, a 63-year-old NHS track and trace employee, was repeatedly punched to the floor before the attacker stamped on his head five times. The savage attack happened on Sunday, 23 August, leaving the worker unconscious and hospitalised.
The victim boarded the Route 149 bus just before Seven Sisters station and stood by the middle doors. The suspect got on at the next stop, around 9:45pm.
Violent Attack Caught on Camera
CCTV shows the attacker trailing the victim to the back doors, where the NHS worker tried to keep his distance. Without warning, the thug launched into a violent assault. The attacker, who had his face mask under his chin, supposedly took offence at the fully masked victim moving away.
PC Bowman from the Roads and Transport Policing Command said: “Although there’s no sound on the CCTV and the victim can’t remember much, we believe this was sparked by the face masks. The attacker can be seen pointing at the victim’s mask before punching and kicking him repeatedly. This was a totally unwarranted and brutal assault. We urgently need to speak to this man.”
