Daredevil Drifter David Bailey Jailed for Joyride Chaos!
Land Rover Theft Sparks Dangerous Police Chase
David Bailey, 39, faced the judge at 1 Crown Court on Friday 8 January after admitting multiple motoring offences. The thug swiped a Land Rover Discovery from a farm in Bruton overnight on 30-31 August.
The next day, a sharp-eyed police officer spotted the stolen Land Rover hurtling towards him on the wrong side of the road through the town centre. The officer narrowly avoided a smash as Bailey sped off, forcing terrified pedestrians to leap out of the way.
Bailey’s Reckless Spree Ends in Arrest
Later that day, the Land Rover was dumped abandoned nearby. Officers quickly arrested Bailey, who has no fixed address.
Dangerous Driver Finally Banned From Roads
- Bailey pled guilty to dangerous driving and taking the vehicle without consent
- Also admitted driving while disqualified, and without insurance
- Now disqualified from driving for 30 months
PC Jim Card, Operation Remedy team, said: “David Bailey is a prolific offender in the Yeovil area and we welcome the custodial sentence he has received.”
“His driving put himself and innocent members of the public at risk and such actions cannot be left unpunished.”
