Paul Hoile, a serving Special Constable with the Metropolitan Police’s North West Command Unit, was arrested on suspicion of rape on Wednesday, July 6. Just two days later, on Friday, July 8, he was formally charged.

Upcoming Court Appearance

Hoile is set to appear before 1 Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, July 9. The charges relate to an incident that occurred in Newport.

Following the arrest and charge, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards swiftly suspended Hoile as the investigation continues.
