Ten Charged After M25 Motorway Gantry Protests
Police have charged ten people following a wave of protests on motorway gantries over the busy M25 last November.

Between Monday 7 and Thursday 10 November 2022, demonstrators targeted junctions 4, 1A, and 1B, disrupting traffic and sparking heavy police action. Officers stopped and searched a car near junction 1, detaining several protesters and seizing climbing equipment used in the stunts.
Faces Named: The Protesters Charged
On Friday 11 November, five individuals were charged with conspiracy to commit public nuisance and faced Colchester Magistrates’ Court:
- David Mann, 50, Kerry Avenue, Ipswich
- Cressida Gethin, 20, The Southend 1, Herefordshire
- Guido Wieser, 18, Pentonville Road, London
- Christopher Ford, 45, Carlton Way, Cambridge
- Phoebe Plummer, 21, Elms Road, London
Earlier in the week, five more were charged with intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance:
- Pavel Sousek, 71, Cornwall
- Gaie Delap, 75, Upper Cheltenham Place, Bristol, Somerset
- Theresa Norton, 54, Esplanade Gardens, Scarborough, North Yorkshire
- Lucia Whittaker-de-Abreu, 33, Arthur Street, Derby
- Molly Berry, 70, Lower Icknield Way, Marsworth, Buckinghamshire
All are set to appear in court in December 2022. The M25 protests caused major disruption, and police continue their crackdown on motorway demonstrators.
