Six Men Arrested in Shocking GBH Conspiracy Across UK
This morning, Wednesday 22 March, police raided homes in London, Scotland, and South Wales. Six men were arrested and charged with conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH) between 2016 and 2022. They appeared at Westminster and Newport Magistrates’ Courts today.
Gruesome Allegations: Genital Maiming and Child Abuse Charges
Among the accused, Marius Theodore Gustavson, 45, from Haringey, faces multiple serious charges. These include:
- Conspiracy to commit GBH
- Five counts of GBH with intent
- Making and distributing an indecent photograph of a child
- Possession of criminal property under the Proceeds of Crime Act
Other key suspects charged with conspiracy to commit GBH include:
- Ion Ciucur, 28, of Gretna, Scotland
- Peter Wates, 65, of Surrey
They have been remanded in custody, set to appear at the Old Bailey on 1 and 19 April.
More Men Bailed but Facing Serious Charges
At Newport Magistrates’ Court, three men from Newport, Gwent, were charged with conspiring to commit GBH:
- David Carruthers, 60
- Janus Atkin, 37
- Ashley Williams, 31
They have been bailed and must appear at the Old Bailey on 19 April.
Additional Summons and Victim Safeguards
Three more men were summonsed at Westminster Magistrates’ Court:
- Damien Byrnes, 35, Haringey – charged with one count of GBH
- Nathaniel Arnold, 47, Kensington and Chelsea – charged with GBH and theft
- Jacob Crimi-Appleby, 22, Epsom – charged with GBH
All are bailed to appear at the Old Bailey on 19 April.
The charges relate to 13 victims who are currently protected by specialist detectives. Horrifically, the offences involve genital mutilation, including removal of penises, testicles, penile nerves, castration, inserting needles into genitalia, and cutting of penises.
