Cold Case Mystery: No One Charged in Carol’s Murder Despite Major Probe
Despite a massive investigation and several arrests, Carol’s killer remains free. Gloucestershire Constabulary has yet to charge anyone in the grim case.
Police Plea: Community Urged to Break Silence
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Usher is calling on the public—especially those who knew Carol—to step up with new information. He believes the passing years may have softened old loyalties.
“This has generated new lines that we are looking at,” said Mr Usher. “Unfortunately, we cannot speak about the information we received but what I would ask is we still need support from the public.”
Breaking the Code of Silence
Carol belonged to a tight-knit community. Mr Usher suspects many stayed quiet back then out of loyalty. But time changes everything.
“Given the passing of time, what I am after is for those people who knew her, who perhaps were not forthcoming with information at the time, for those people to come forward because those loyalties may not exist anymore,” he added.
The police are desperately hoping someone will finally crack the case wide open.
