Man Held After Serious Hornbeam Gardens Assault
Chacko Thenakarayil from Hornbeam Gardens has been remanded in custody following a court appearance at Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court. The move comes after a brutal assault left a man fighting for his life.
Victim in Hospital with Head Injury
The attack happened just before 9pm on Saturday, 6 May. Police rushed to Hornbeam Gardens after reports of an assault. Officers found a man in his 40s with a serious head wound. He was rushed to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Sergeant Jack Mabbett, leading the probe, reassured the public: “There is no wider concern for public safety.” He urged anyone who was nearby or has video footage of the incident to step forward.
