Speeding Drug Driver Caught After Taser Takedown in Pewsey

Byron Lucas-Parsons, 23, of Goddard Road, faced justice at Salisbury Magistrates Court yesterday (08/01) for a reckless early morning joyride last May.

The speedster had already admitted guilt back in November 2023.

Police Chase Ends in Crash and Foot Pursuit

On May 8, 2023, just after 4.30am, Lucas-Parsons raced through Pewsey High Street with no lights on in the pitch dark. He ignored police orders to stop, sparking a tense pursuit.

The chase ended on Marlborough Road where the driver tried to flee on foot but jumped back in the car. Police fired a taser before Lucas-Parsons reversed at speed, smashing into a sign. He then fled into nearby woodland.

Police Dog Conan and his handler tracked him down. Lucas-Parsons admitted he was the driver behind the wheel.

Sentenced to Suspended Jail and Ban

The court handed Lucas-Parsons 24 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 18 months. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and must complete six months of drug rehabilitation plus up to 12 days of extra rehabilitation tasks.

He also faces a £154 surcharge and £85 towards Crown Prosecution costs.

PC Ben Greening said: “Lucas-Parsons did everything in his power to evade police, driving off at speed despite officers requesting him to stop. It was thanks to the great work by PD Conan and his handler that we located him in his hiding place.”
