Second Man Charged Over Brutal A2 Assault Leaving Two Men Hurt

Violent Early Morning Attack on A2 Near Canterbury

Emergency crews rushed to the London-bound A2 near the A28 exit at Wincheap just after 5:40am on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Two men in a car were viciously attacked by at least one suspect from another vehicle. One victim suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.

35-Year-Old From Plymouth Arrested and Charged

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Esmatullah Paktuiwal, 35, from Britannia Place, Plymouth, was arrested. He faces charges of:

  • Attempted murder
  • Causing grievous bodily harm with intent
  • Possession of offensive weapons in public – specifically an axe and a bat

Paktuiwal was remanded in custody and is due before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 26.

Earlier Arrests: Another Man Charged, One on Bail

  • Dawood Khan, 28, from Burnt Oak, North London, was charged on January 28 with:
    • Attempted murder
    • Causing grievous bodily harm with intent
    • Two counts of possessing offensive weapons—a wooden bat and an axe
  • Khan is set to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on March 3.
  • A 27-year-old man was also arrested but later released on bail, pending further investigation.

Police Hunt More Suspects and Witnesses

Detectives are still probing the savage attack and searching for more suspects. Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of the A2 near Wincheap in the early hours of December 14 to step forward.
