Brutal Rape Rapist Slapped with Extra Three Years Behind Bars
Alfie Rowbotham, 27, from King’s Lynn, thought a five-and-a-half-year sentence was the end of it after his vile attack last September. Think again. His jail time has now been pumped up to a hefty eight-and-a-half years — adding a tough extra three years behind bars.
Shocking Attack in King’s Lynn Alley
On 19 September 2024, a young woman walking home from a night out was brutally targeted by Rowbotham, who was out walking his dog. He forced himself on her, kissing and groping before dragging her into a dark alley and raping her.
Terrified, the victim fled to a nearby taxi office where staff quickly alerted the police. CCTV footage nailed Rowbotham, leading to his swift arrest that very same day. He was charged immediately and locked up.
Justice Served After Sentence Appeal
The Crown Prosecution Service East of England branded the original sentence “unduly lenient.” After a hearing on 14 October 2025, the court agreed, slapping Rowbotham with an extra three years in prison.
“I would like to commend the victim in this case for her bravery in coming forward and supporting this prosecution. I hope that this increased sentence provides her with some level of comfort, knowing he will be behind bars for the foreseeable future.”– DC Christine Copeman
