A 23-year-old has been hit with a two-year driving ban after smashing his BMW into several vehicles on the M4 while being four times over the drink-drive limit.
Dangerous Drive in Dead of Night
Kyran George, from Hackney, was spotted cruising down the motorway without headlights on the night of September 30. At around 8.15pm, his reckless joyride ended in chaos after he crashed into three cars and a Land Rover before spinning off the road onto the verge.
Four Times The Legal Alcohol Limit
Paramedics tested George at the scene and he failed a roadside breath test. Further checks at custody confirmed he was four times over the legal alcohol limit, putting lives at serious risk.
Judge Cracks Down With Tough Penalties
Facing Swindon Magistrates Court on October 21, George pleaded guilty. He was handed a two-year driving ban, ordered to pay a £114 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
“Driving with four times the legal limit is disgraceful,” said PC Paul Davis of the Roads Policing Unit. “George’s selfishness could have caused tragedy. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt.”
