Predator Charles Isabirye Jailed for 17 Years
Charles Isabirye was slammed with a hefty 17-year prison sentence yesterday at Leicester Crown Court. The 48-year-old was found guilty of four counts of rape against two women following a gripping trial last month.
Judge Labels Isabirye a ‘Dominating Predator’
Judge Evans did not hold back, condemning Isabirye for his ruthless control over the victims. The judge said he “sought to dominate all aspects of their lives.” Despite Isabirye’s denials and twisted claims that the women conspired to lie, the jury saw through his web of deceit. On top of the rape convictions, Isabirye was also found guilty of breaching a restraining order and three counts of intimidating witnesses.
Police Officer Praised Amid Baseless Attacks
Detective Constable Sarah Le Boutillier earned high praise for her professionalism during the complex investigation. The judge dismissed Isabirye’s unfounded attacks on her integrity, saying:
“You continue to blame one victim, saying ‘If it was not for her, you would not be in prison.’ During the trial, you accused the prosecution of unfairness rather than face the witnesses’ evidence. You saw conspiracies everywhere and painted yourself as the victim. I have no doubt you present a serious risk to women.”
Strict Orders Keep Victims Safe
The former Ratcliffe Road, Loughborough resident has been slapped with a restraining order banning all contact with the victims. A Sexual Harm Prevention Order is also in place to protect the public. Justice has finally been delivered for his terrified victims.
