A Manchester man has been slapped with over eight years behind bars after terrorising Ancoats and Denton with a series of break-in attempts.

Darren Townsend, 51, from Carfax Street, admitted to multiple charges of burglary and attempted break-ins. His crime rampage shook local communities all throughout August 2025.
