A man is in custody after a high-speed chase through Cleethorpes on Monday, 24 November.
Suspected Uninsured Driver Fleeing Police
Police on patrol spotted a vehicle on Fairview Avenue linked to criminal activity and believed to be uninsured. When officers tried to stop the driver, he suddenly sped off, sparking a short but tense pursuit.
Driver Tries to Smash Police Car, Crashes Fence
During the chase, the man reportedly attempted to ram a police cruiser in a desperate bid to escape. The car eventually smashed into a nearby fence, bringing the wild ride to a halt. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Man Flees On Foot But Is Caught by Police Dog
After the crash, the suspect ran off on foot. Officers released Police Dog Yoiko, who quickly tracked down and detained the 35-year-old man. He was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance.
Further investigations linked him to an assault in another police force area, leading to additional charges.
