Vinod Ramachandran, 42, thought he was chatting up a schoolgirl, calling her “sexy” and even sharing tips on how to watch porn. But shocker – the ‘girl’ was actually a paedophile hunter in disguise.
Vigilante Sting Brings Career Crashing Down
The father-of-three arranged to meet the fake schoolgirl outside a Norwich secondary school, bringing a box of chocolates in tow. But the police were waiting – and swooped in to arrest him on the spot.
At Norwich Crown Court, it emerged Ramachandran first contacted the bogus profile on Facebook using a fake name. He later switched to WhatsApp, where his messages grew “increasingly sexual.” One chilling message read: “You’re 12. I’ll be screwed if someone finds out we’re together. I’ll end up in jail. Please don’t inform the police.”
Jailed and Struck Off for Life
Ramachandran was convicted of attempted sexual communication with a child, encouraging a child to watch pornography, commissioning a child sex act, and grooming. He was jailed for two years last August.
Now the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service has permanently removed him from the medical register – banning him from working as a radiographer ever again.
No Regret, Just Denial
“There is nothing to demonstrate true remorse, apology or regret for his actions… There is nothing to suggest that there would not be a repetition of this conduct again.”
The tribunal blasted Ramachandran for showing “no true remorse, apology or regret.” He continues to deny his intentions, and officials warn he could strike again.
Ramachandran’s shocking downfall is a stark warning about the threats lurking behind closed doors – and highlights the crucial role vigilantes play in protecting kids from predators.
