A man has died after a brutal attack outside a Birmingham bar, sparking a desperate plea from his family for witnesses to step forward and help catch those responsible.
Joshua Johnson-Hector Dies After Brutal Assault
Joshua Johnson-Hector, 31, was viciously attacked outside the Savanna Bar on Bristol Street, Birmingham, just after 4am on Sunday, December 28. Rushed to hospital with a serious head injury, he tragically died the following day.
Man Charged with Manslaughter
Police have charged 37-year-old Richard Deakin from Halesowen with manslaughter linked to Joshua’s death. Deakin appeared before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on December 30 for his first hearing.
Family Issues Heartbreaking Appeal
“Joshua comes from a loving family who are devastated by his untimely death,” they said in a joint statement.
“We’re asking anyone who saw Joshua before, during, or after the attack to come forward and help us get justice.”
“No piece of information is too small – even something that seems insignificant could be vital. Please contact the police. You can stay anonymous.”
“We thank those who’ve already helped. We can’t bring Joshua back, but we can bring his attackers to justice.”
Police Hunt Witnesses and CCTV Footage
A West Midlands Police spokesperson confirmed the investigation is ongoing. They urged anyone with information to call 101 quoting log 587 on December 28, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Detectives are particularly keen to see CCTV footage, mobile phone videos, or eyewitness accounts from the time of the attack outside busy Savanna Bar – a popular cocktail hotspot.
Justice for Joshua Remains a Priority
The family’s plea highlights the heartbreak left behind and their fight to see those responsible punished. With the quick manslaughter charge, police say they have solid evidence but still need more eyewitnesses to build the full picture.
If you know anything about this tragic early morning attack, come forward now and help bring justice for Joshua Johnson-Hector.
