The Heist and Quick Response

At 8.20am on Sunday 29 March 2026, police received a report that a van carrying two motorbikes was stolen from Saltings Road. The victim’s doorbell footage helped identify a suspect.

Suspects Caught Red-Handed

Police followed up swift leads and spotted a man matching the CCTV description at a nearby petrol station. By 9.40am, two men aged 64 and 42 were arrested on Malling Road for theft of a motor vehicle and go-equipped-to-steal offences.

Vehicles Found and Returned

Officers searched a linked property in Longfield, recovering the two stolen bikes. The van was located in West Kingsdown soon after. Both were promptly returned to their rightful owner. The suspects remain on bail as investigations continue.
