A former children’s holiday camp manager, Cameron Osman, 44, has admitted to grooming over 70 teenage boys online. Osman used the fake identity ‘Lizzielemon’ to target victims across social media platforms such as Instagram, MyLol, and Love Crush.
Osman moved his victims onto video chat platforms to continue the abuse. Police tracked him down to a friend’s home in Crowborough, East Sussex, in September 2021, where his devices were seized. Investigators found that he had contacted 76 boys aged between 12 and 16 across the UK during the offending period.
Thankfully, all the victims have been safeguarded following the investigation.
At 123 Crown Court, Osman pleaded guilty to 36 charges. These charges included attempting to incite children to engage in sexual activity, causing sexual activity, sexual communication with children, and creating indecent images.
The 123 programme, which supports safe online experiences for young people, has issued a warning to parents and children. They advise anyone pressured to send sexual content to exit the conversation immediately, avoid responding further, and report the incident to the police or a trusted adult.
Police continue to actively investigate and remind everyone to remain vigilant when online.
