Video-Link Court Appearance From Detention

The girl appeared via video-link from a youth detention centre at Nenagh District Court. She remained silent throughout, only confirming she could see and hear the proceedings. Her solicitor, Turlough Herbert from Herbert & Co Sols in Limerick, confirmed a psychological evaluation is being arranged while she remains on remand.

“In respect of the psychological evaluation, we have that matter in hand,” said Mr Herbert.

Co-Accused Woman Also Appears on Remand

A 40-year-old woman co-accused in the case also appeared by video-link from Limerick Prison. Represented by solicitor Pauric Nesbit, she too only confirmed she could hear and see the court session.

Strict Reporting Restrictions and Court Orders

Neither accused can be named due to strict reporting restrictions imposed by a judge last March. Judge Fiona Brennan granted a four-week adjournment with consent from both parties and the prosecution. Both women remain in custody and are due back before Nenagh District Court on May 15 for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
