Detectives are looking for information after receiving reports of a serious sexual assault in Wistaston.
A serious sexual assault was reported to have occurred on Oak Tree Walk in Wistaston between 2.40pm and 3pm on Monday 16 January.
Specialist officers are currently assisting the victim, a 15-year-old girl.
The suspect is a man in his late twenties, of slim build, with brown/red hair, a scar under his eye, and stretcher piercings in both ears.
He was wearing frameless glasses, dark blue jeans, a burgundy jumper, and a mustard Trespass jacket at the time of the incident.
The investigation into the incident’s circumstances is still ongoing.
Officers are eager to hear from anyone with information that can help them with their investigations as part of these inquiries.
We understand that this incident will cause concern in the local community, but I want to make it clear that we are doing everything we can to establish the circumstances of what occurred,” Detective Inspector Victoria Shelton said.
Residents will notice a number of officers in the area in the coming days, and I would encourage anyone who has concerns to speak with an officer.”
A number of investigations, including CCTV, are underway, and as part of these, we are asking anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and saw something that didn’t seem quite right to come forward.
We’d also like to speak with a dog walker who was in the area around the time and may have seen something suspicious.
