Appeal for Witnesses Following Serious Collision in Wandsworth

 

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision involving a van and a cyclist in Wandsworth. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1, on Tooting Bec Road at the junction with Franciscan Road, SW17.

Emergency services, including officers and the London Ambulance Service, were called to the scene. The cyclist was transported to the hospital, where they remain in a life-threatening condition.

The 50-year-old driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of causing serious personal injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, and being unfit to drive through drink. He is currently in police custody.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the investigation and are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
