Dartford Shoplifters Jailed After Co-op Theft Spree

Two prolific thieves have been jailed within 24 hours after stealing multiple items from a Co-op store in Dartford.

Debbie Neagle, 35, and Tafadzwa Chinhoyi, 40, were both imprisoned on Saturday 19 July after pleading guilty to theft at Medway Magistrates’ Court.

The pair, both of no fixed address, targeted the Co-op in Oldfield Place on Friday 18 July, stealing a range of goods including meat, energy drinks, toiletries, and cleaning products.

Theft Caught and Reported

Neagle and Chinhoyi entered the shop together before splitting up. Neagle headed to the meat aisle, stuffing her rucksack with stolen items, while Chinhoyi collected a basket and plastic bags to fill with additional goods.

They reunited to steal further items and attempted to leave the store separately. Neagle exited successfully, but Chinhoyi was challenged by a staff member as he tried to flee with two full bags.

Arrests and Court Outcome

Police were alerted and neighbourhood constables responded swiftly, locating and arresting both suspects nearby.

They were charged the same day and brought before magistrates the following morning.

Where shoplifting has been committed, they generally know those responsible and will track them down at the earliest opportunity.
Persistent offenders can expect to be charged and will swiftly appear before magistrates to answer for their crimes.
