Woman Requires Surgery After Vicious Attack While Caring for Local Cats in Leyton

A local woman has issued a heartfelt public appeal after she was violently assaulted while feeding a group of neglected cats in Primrose Road, Leyton, around midnight on Monday 7 July going into Tuesday 8 July 2025.

The woman, who has been caring for the cats for over a year, was approached by a man who accused her of stealing the animals. Before she could explain, he punched her twice in the face and walked off toward Goldsmith Road, leaving her with serious facial injuries requiring surgery.

“I now need facial surgery to have bolts and plates to fix the fractured bones around my eye socket, my cheekbone, and jaw,” she said. “Violent people don’t belong in our neighbourhoods. Violence against women needs to end now.”
