Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Reported Assault in Tonbridge

Police in Tonbridge are appealing for witnesses after a reported assault on a woman near Romney Way on Friday, November 1, 2024. The incident, which occurred earlier in the afternoon, was reported to authorities shortly after 3:30 p.m.

The woman involved said she was approached by an unknown man who grasped at her before she managed to leave the area on foot. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Officers attended the scene and began initial inquiries. The suspect has been described as a white man, approximately 5’6” tall, with dark brown hair and a dark beard. He was reportedly wearing a dark grey hoodie that was pulled up. Witnesses also noted that he had a significant amount of hair on his arms. It was further alleged that the man exposed himself before approaching the woman.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are appealing to anyone who was in the area between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the day of the incident to come forward. Any information, no matter how minor it may seem, could be valuable to the investigation.
