A man has sadly died after a collision involving two cars near Kidderminster

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 9.10pm to Birmingham Road in #Blakedown and sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic, a Mercia Accident Rescue Service responder (MARS) and the Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman says: “On arrival, crews found the driver of the first car, a man, in a critical condition.

“He was receiving good CPR from fire service colleagues before ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support.

“Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The driver of the second car, a man, was treated by medics for serious injuries and was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with MERIT travelling on board to continue treatment en route.

“A third patient, a woman, was treated for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital.

“A second woman was assessed and taken to the same hospital for further checks.”
