Ed Sheeran is set to shake up the music world again with ‘One Shot With Ed Sheeran’, a groundbreaking live music special hitting Netflix next month. The Suffolk singer will perform some of his biggest hits in one continuous, jaw-dropping take — all captured as he roams the streets of New York.
Directed by Emmy Winner Philip Barantini
The special is directed by Philip Barantini, the mastermind behind Netflix’s smash hit drama Adolescence. Known for his signature one-shot style, Barantini brought six Emmy Awards home for the series.
Barantini said of the technique: “It makes you sit up and you can’t take your eyes off it, because if you do blink for a second you miss something.” He added, “It draws the audience in. It’s like going to a play. If you go to a play, you can’t be on your phone, yeah? And so you’ve got to pay attention to everything.”
A Real-Time Ride Through New York
Set over one afternoon, the special captures Ed as he performs live while interacting with fans and New Yorkers alike. From spontaneous performances on bustling sidewalks and subway cars to intimate moments with passersby, it’s an unfiltered look at the Grammy winner in action.
Netflix promises “a mesmerising journey” blending live performance with documentary-style spontaneity.
