North Yorkshire Farmer’s Furious Lamb Theft Plea

A North Yorkshire farmer has launched a public appeal after a lamb was allegedly stolen from his land near Kex Gill, close to the busy A59, on Monday afternoon, 13 May.

Silver Car Spotted Near Scene of Theft

Rob Hayton shared a now-viral post featuring a silver vehicle spotted near the field where the lamb vanished. The heartbroken farmer says the lamb’s mother, a ewe, has been desperately searching for her missing baby ever since.

“No matter how well you think you can look after it, you can’t do as well as she can,” said Mr Hayton. He added the stolen lamb is a Swaledale, a rare breed typically kept for breeding, not slaughter.

Mr Hayton has recorded the vehicle’s registration number and is appealing for a peaceful resolution.

“If it’s returned, no further action will be taken against you,” he promised.

Call for Witnesses

Mr Hayton is urging anyone who saw anything suspicious near the white building by Kex Gill on the A59 just before 5pm on May 13 to come forward.
